General Description
:
The soria moria hotel and conference centre is housed in a modern timber building on a hilltop amidst pine forests and located 12 kilometres from the centre of oslo. The 156 guestrooms are arranged over four floors. All possess classy decor in warm tones and come equipped with satellite television, internet connections, hair dryers, and minibars. Guests can enjoy a dip in the indoor swimming pool or sweat it out in the sauna. The hotel has its own library and offers wireless internet access in public areas for those who wish to plan their sightseeing itineraries. There are eight meeting rooms with capacity for up to 80 people, as well as an assembly hall that can hold up to 280 people; audio-visual equipment is available. There are 180 free parking spaces and a helicopter landing space is available by arrangement. The kittelsen stuene restaurant offers stunning views over the surrounding forest and serves norwegian and international dishes, while the soria moria bar features a wide variety of drinks and an international bar menu. During the winter season, the hotel offers ski rental and a regular shuttle to 14 downhill slopes and sleigh rides in the surrounding countryside are also available. The shopping and restaurants of aker brygge are eight kilometres away and the medieval fortress of akershus is 11 kilometres from the hotel. The nearest metro station is voksenkollen, just over a kilometre from the hotel. Oslo airport is 55 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.
